This is a small personal blog, not a business tracking you for profit. But in the interest of being straight with you, here’s exactly what happens behind the scenes when you visit.
What cookies this site uses
A cookie is just a small file your browser stores so a site can remember something between visits. This site uses a handful, each for a specific, limited reason:
- Site statistics (Jetpack Stats): anonymised cookies that tell me roughly how many people visit and which posts get read. No names, no personal profiles — just numbers.
- Comments: if you leave a comment, a cookie remembers your name and email so you don’t have to retype them next time.
- Subscribe & Like: remembers whether you’ve subscribed to the blog or liked a post, so you don’t get asked twice.
- Buy Me a Coffee: the button in the footer is a third-party embed, and it may set its own cookie if you interact with it. That’s controlled by Buy Me a Coffee, not by me.
None of these are used for advertising, none are sold to anyone, and nothing here builds a profile of you to target ads elsewhere.
Your choices
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings if you’d rather not have them — the site will still work, though things like staying subscribed or not having to re-enter your comment details won’t persist.
